Over the last few days authors have been discovering that Amazon have been removing the Amazon sales rankings from books which Amazon has decided are "adult". This makes the books much harder to find on the site and hence directly affects not merely visibility but sales.

Amazon has determined that books with gay or lesbian content of any sort, however non explicit, count as "adult" for these purposes and they are being stripped of their sales rankings, though in a baffling and scattershot manner,

Fuller details are set out here with useful links. Not only is this generally relevant to Torchwood, but John Barrowman's autobiography is one of the works affected though apparently only the hardcover version and not the paperback as yet
