March has been a slow month for reads. Running up to the 13th I was too distracted with the prospect of my first convention and then after that it was the start of university holidays so no bus trips. Except for the trip to London. Still even then I was listening to a musical/theatre show on my zen. (shh bout that!)

Books finished:
Out Of The Past by Sean Michael
Doctor Who: The Stealer Of Dreams by Steve Lyons

Books partially read: (distracted mind couldn't find enough interest)
The Murder Exchange by Simon Kernick [half read on the return coach]
(whatever book was next in the rebus series) by Ian Rankin
Son Of A Witch by Gregory Maguire [bought a copy with all of the pages now]
Eclipse by (someoneorother)
One Hundred Years Of Solitude by (spanishauthor)

Small review of finished books:

Out Of The Past:
A very short book of 99pages. Very little, nearing on no plot. Seriously it was like 95 pages of sex, 4 pages of 'OMG you were dead now you are not.' and 'I thought you left me. I hate you.' both of which lead to 'let's have enough sex to make up for being apart for 10 years' and 'I love you.'

Hey look. Now you don't need to read it. You're not missing anything. Chick-lit only suitable to read on the beach whilst suffering from heat stroke.
2/10 and that's being generous.

The Stealer Of Dreams:

Started reading this in Starbucks. Read for a while and then looked at my phone to find it was 2 hours later! Vital shopping time lost. Book was then finished in an hour and a bit on the coach. Nice and light and just the book I needed to get back into reading.
My main complaint about the book is that The Doctor was written clearly enough as Christopher Eccleston. I kept picturing David Tennant and he wasn't even A Doctor when it was written. Captain Jack & Rose are written well and Rose really pulls you into the story.

A world were fiction is banned. Dreams are illegal, as are lies and hopes. Each of the three throw themselves into solving these problems separately and the twist at the end was completely unexpected (which I will not spoil as it is worth reading even if you're only slightly into Doctor Who.

As it's a Teenage read there is a moral to the story, as there is with all the DW episodes & books. It may not be intelectually challenging but it really sucks you in to another world. One of the best DW books I've read 9/10.
