Okay, so I've just been watching 'The Making Of Me' about John Barrowman. The programme was quite interesting, but as expected, there was no clear conclusion to the nature vs. nurture argument. Possible wouldn't be a wholey good thing if we did anyway.
I know it was aimed at what makes a man gay, but do similar thing count for women?
Gay men tend to have famale 'best friends' when they were younger.
My best friend when I was younger was Robert Chapman. Apparently we used to lock ourselfs in the bathroom and noone had any idea what we got up to! My most resounding memory of him is playing with his playmobile pirate ship.
So toys; yes I had Barbies and Sindys when growing up, but they were all gay, except from Emma Bunton & Robbie Williams who got married, and even then Emma dabbled. Seriously. The best bit about the dolls were the cars (one of mine was a corvette!) and the horses. Action men were on the scene aswell.
As well as playing with Roberts I also had a large collection of playmobile. - Are they boys toys or girls toys or both?
My favourite of my childhood toys were my cars. Still got a selection of my favourites in my room, hoping the rest are in the loft.
Others I had were Biker Mice From Mars and Power Rangers.
So have these things affected who I am today or were they purely incoincidental and situational?
Who knows? I don't, and nor does it seem do the 'experts'
