Ok to start with I have to say that I am totally in love with Jarhand by Immaculate Machine. It's just too damn beautiful. Must find some other music of theirs.
Another song that I find myself getting into is The Worlds Gone Mad by Handsome Boy Modelling School. So not normally my thing but with Alex's vocals over the track...
Went to see the Cribs on June 10th. Very good, over-powering music to lose yourself in. Nothing like on CD. Discovered a 'new' band through them. 1990s. They were the second support act and came so close to overshadowing the Jarman brothers. Had to buy the album 'Cookies' and have since discovered that two of the band used to be in The Yummy Fur with Alex Kapranos (who I have albums of). Now I swear I never knew this. Honestly. Nothing like Franz but still great.
Wireless Festival on Saturday just gone was great. Met loads of people from the internet totally by accident, which was good as I was there on my lonesome as I am for most gigs. Got so many decent photos, esp of Kaiser Chiefs and some of them have been put on their offical website!! ARGH!
Moved out of my flat on Tuesday, kinda sad to go and think that I'll probably never see Oxley again. One postive though is that the kitchen here is CLEAN! Might actually start cooking rather than eating out constantly. Decided to get my exam results in the flat rather than at home as I knew I'd failed. Yup I failed three exams, as expected, resits to do in August. At least with my 'Mitigating Circumstances' I've been awarded first attempt on two of them.
On a different note (no I'm not bitching incase 'you' read this) my circle of friends has had to change completely since my birthday. Didn't think I'd ever say this but I think it was for the better. I feel so much more relaxed within it. I don't have to work at making it 'perfect'. I prefer rough edges and an eclectic mix of non-plastics. (oops that wasn't meant to sound that bad but I can't think of another way of putting it). I don't miss having to apologise for things that weren't my fault.
Think that's all for now other than to ask if anyone has some new (or new to me at least) music they want to reccommend to me as the unknown acts I've supported over the past couple of years have made it and it doesn't feel quite as special listening to their music anymore unfortunately.
